The first publication of the Great Wave of Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai took place between 1826 and 1833.

With the Great Wave of Kanagawa, the most famous print of the Japanese master Hokusai, the children are introduced to engraving as a way to produce images. In doing so, they work on the notion of values and composition to create works whose aesthetics are inspired by Hokusai’s work.
