Beyond the gold repair of ceramics, kintsugi belongs to the Japanese school of thought which questions the notion of perfection. By doing so, it invites us to acknowledge the beauty of imperfection. Hence, in the field of psychology, kintsugi symbolises resilience or the ability to overcome difficulties, transform and rebuild oneself in a new manner.

With these postulates as a working basis and a kindhearted approach, this workshop invites you to create a work of art which stems from some form of dissatisfaction or difficulty you are currently experiencing. The idea is to beautify it and experience it in a different light thanks to the use of painting techniques (inks, acrylics, collages) and composite gold. As a result, you may be able to transform it and initiate a change within yourself and even your life.

This workshop is divided into three parts. We begin with relaxation and positive visualsation. Thereafter, we engage our creativity with visual arts and finally, a short time is taken to reflect and share upon our experience of the creative process and our artworks.

It’s recommended that you to bring photos and/ or images related to the subject you wish to address, however you may also create from scratch, using collage pictures.
